Pivoting into Data Analytics
I did it. I jumped into the data analytics band wagon and am now almost through with the training.
Why?
It's time for a new challenge and I'm stacking up skills which allow me to work remotely. For me, that's the biggest driver. As a retail pharmacist, I have to go out to work. I have to open the shop and lock it at the end of the day. There's no flexibility or any possibility of working from home.
The solution?
Pivot and stack skills which allow me to work from my computer at home.
I'm at a time where I want to embrace the introvert in me. How I've actually managed to deal with front facing customers for these many years, I have no idea. I just want to hide behind the keyboard and pop up only when I need to. I understand with data analytics I will need to explain the key insights the data is pointing at so that stakeholders can make more informed decisions. That I can handle.
What have I learned so far?
Xcel and dashboarding with Xcel, Power BI, SQL and now we are working with Tableau
How confident am I?
As I practise, my confidence improves. At this point I now fully understand what the role of a data analyst is. At the start of the course it was a blur.
What about AI?
AI is here and being used as a tool in data analytics, The key now is the story telling and interpretation skills that a human working with data brings. Entry level positions may be totally replaced by AI,
What's my strategy?
Combining data analytics with my pharmacy healthcare background and writing skills. I'm cooking something guys, wish me luck.
I'll be posting some projects I've worked on
